Toy Story 5 has achieved another major box office milestone, officially becoming the highest-grossing animated film in the history of the Middle East, extending Disney and Pixar’s remarkable success story that has spanned more than three decades.
The achievement comes just weeks after the film’s theatrical release, having broken regional box office records and surpassed every animated feature previously released in the Middle East. The film’s exceptional performance has been driven by strong audience turnout across key markets, particularly Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait.
The latest installment continues to attract families and longtime fans of the beloved franchise, fueled by the enduring popularity of iconic characters such as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, while delivering a fresh adventure that blends humor, heartfelt emotion, and the nostalgia that has defined the series since its debut in 1995.
This regional milestone further builds on the film’s outstanding global success. Following a powerful international opening, Toy Story 5 has continued its impressive box office run, setting a new benchmark in the Middle East and reaffirming the exceptional connection that Disney and Pixar films continue to enjoy with audiences across the Arab world.
In Egypt, Toy Story 5 is currently playing in two versions: an Egyptian Arabic-dubbed edition and the original English-language version, with United Motion Pictures handling the film’s theatrical distribution nationwide.
Globally, the film has now grossed $1.022 billion, including $448 million at the North American box office and $573 million from international markets, becoming the third film of the year to surpass the $1 billion milestone, following The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael, both of which also crossed the billion-dollar mark worldwide.
Toy Story 5 is also on the verge of another franchise milestone. Industry projections indicate that within the coming days it will overtake the $1.07 billion worldwide gross of Toy Story 4, making it the highest-grossing film in the history of the Toy Story franchise. Both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 previously surpassed the $1 billion mark, further cementing the franchise’s status as one of the most successful animated series of all time.
