As artificial intelligence reshapes industries at unprecedented speed, Tarek ElGanainy, Founder and CEO of T-Vision Media Productions, highlights during the Narrative Summit the need to look beyond familiar tools and bring greater international attention to the people shaping Egypt today.

At the 10th edition of Narrative Summit in Somabay, Flair Magazine spoke with Tarek ElGanainy about the forces shaping the future and the stories Egypt has yet to fully tell. From the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence to the country’s contemporary identity, his perspective points to the importance of looking beyond the obvious to recognize what comes next.

“AI is obviously the big thing moving fast. A lot of people are excited about it, yet many still don’t really know how to move forward with it beyond the ChatGPT option. I believe it will have a massive impact on almost all industries over the next two to three years, at most,” ElGanainy says.

Beyond technological transformation, ElGanainy believes Egypt also has an opportunity to broaden the way it presents itself to the world. While the country’s ancient civilization remains a powerful draw for international visitors, he argues that its contemporary identity deserves far greater attention.

“Egypt has a very unique DNA. Sometimes, I feel we get stuck in the old Pharaonic eras, which are great. People abroad are fascinated by visiting modern Egypt and the new museum, but I believe Egyptian DNA should be explored more, especially that of the people living today, rather than focusing only on those who lived thousands of years ago,” he says.

For ElGanainy, telling Egypt’s story means looking beyond its celebrated past to the people who define its present. By bringing greater visibility to contemporary Egyptian identity, the country can offer the world a fuller picture of who it is today, while continuing to honour the heritage that makes it distinctive.
