As Egypt’s hospitality industry enters a new phase of growth, Ayman Baky, Founder of Baky Hospitality, reflects on the opportunities ahead and the role international brands will play in raising industry standards.
At the 10th edition of Narrative Summit in Somabay, Flair Magazine spoke with Ayman Baky, Founder of Baky Hospitality, about the shifts shaping Egypt’s hospitality sector and what lies ahead. With investment gaining momentum and Egypt strengthening its appeal as a regional destination, Baky sees significant room for growth, alongside a more competitive landscape that will reward operational excellence.
“The industry has grown drastically over the past few years, and the opportunities are vast. People are investing in it, and Egypt is becoming an increasingly attractive destination in the area,” Baky says.
Baky believes the next stage of growth could bring more established international hotel and restaurant groups into the Egyptian market, introducing new benchmarks and intensifying competition. For local operators, this presents both an opportunity and a challenge: those with strong foundations and sound operations will be better positioned to compete, while others will need to demonstrate their ability to meet rising expectations.
For Baky, the future of Egypt’s hospitality industry will not be defined by growth alone, but by the ability of businesses to deliver quality, consistency, and operational strength in an increasingly demanding market.
