As the sun sets over the Red Sea, El Gouna comes alive with the glamour of cinema, the artistry of fashion, and the unmistakable allure of the red carpet. Returning for its ninth edition from October 15 to 23, the El Gouna Film Festival once again brings together celebrated names from across the Arab world for a week honoring cinematic excellence, cultural expression, and creative vision.

The opening ceremony set the tone with a series of memorable moments, including Egyptian actress Mona Zaki receiving the festival’s Creative Achievement Award in recognition of a career spanning nearly three decades. Director Mohamed Shaker Khodeir made a surprise appearance to present the honor, while young actress Yasmina El Abd hosted the evening, guiding audiences through reflections on cinema’s power to connect us through stories and characters. The ceremony also celebrated the artistry behind the camera, recognizing veteran lighting specialist Hassan El Sayed for his contributions to the industry, alongside musical performances by Egyptian composer Mohamed Nawar that brought together melodies from Egyptian and international cinema.

Beyond the silver screen, however, El Gouna has long established itself as a destination for fashion that commands just as much attention. Against the picturesque backdrop of Egypt’s coastal haven, the red carpet becomes a showcase for exceptional craftsmanship, contemporary silhouettes, and creations from the world’s most coveted fashion houses. This year, Huda El Mufti stepped out in Dolce & Gabbana, while Salma Abu Deif made a statement in custom Miu Miu, offering a glimpse of the sartorial moments shaping the festival.

From cinematic tributes to show-stopping ensembles, the ninth edition promises a celebration of artistry in all its forms. Here, Flair spotlights the celebrity looks bringing a distinctive sense of style to El Gouna Film Festival 2026.
