Nahla Zayed The Tripoli International Film Festival has announced the selection of director Nadine Khan as a jury member for the Feature Film Competition at its 13th edition, scheduled to take place from September 17 to 23.
The jury also includes actor Talal El Jurdi and producer Georges Schoucair. The festival’s program will also feature a special discussion session with Nadine Khan, moderated by film critic Nadim Jarjoura.
Most recently, Nadine served as a jury member at the 10th edition of the Manassat Film Festival.
Nadine Khan’s recent series Beng Kully will be released soon on Shahid VIP. The medical drama stars Salma Abu Deif, Diab, Ola Roshdi, Kamal Abu Rayya, Salwa Mohamed Ali, and Mohamed Mahran with Casting director Mody Shahin, cinematography by Omar Hossam, production design by Bassel Hossam, editing by Mohsen Abdel Wahab, costume design by Enas Abdallah, and music by Khaled Al Kammar. The series is written by Mohamed Suleiman Abdel Malek, directed by Nadine Khan, and produced by Abdullah Abu Al-Fotouh.
Nadine Khan’s previous work, the hit series Masar Egbary, aired during Ramadan 2024 and topped the watchlists on both Watch It and Shahid VIP throughout its run. Masar Egbary stars Ahmed Dash and Essam Omar.
Nadine Khan is an acclaimed Egyptian director who graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 2001, specializing in film directing. She has established herself as a prominent voice in both film and television, with a portfolio that includes socially driven series such as Saabe’ Gaar (Seventh Neighbor), the third season of Leih La2? (Why Not?), Meen 2al? (Who Said So?), and Masar Egbary.
Her feature film Abu Saddam had its world premiere at the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), where it earned the Best Actor Award. Her debut feature, Harag w’ Marag (Chaos, Disorder), received critical acclaim, winning the Silver Muhr Award at the Dubai International Film Festival (2012), Best Film at the Oran International Arab Film Festival, and the Development Award from the prestigious Locarno Festival.
Khan began her career with notable short films such as Wahed Fe El Million (One in a Million) and Hon W’ Honik (Here and There), both of which were screened at international festivals and received several awards. She has also directed several documentaries, including Al Gharib (The Outsider), Al Eid Farha, and Oum Ali.
