While the tendency to turn on your TV and sit through half-hour ad intervals to watch your favorite show is simply slacking off, the ever increasing demand on online streaming platforms, as good and as diverse as Netflix, is finally being met. Here are the top streaming apps and websites to use this Ramadan.

Watch iT

This brand new application by the Egyptian Media Company was supposed to launch just in time for the entertainment hype of the Ramadan season. It features fifteen of the Ramadan television series that were banned on YouTube – something many people do not appreciate. However since its introduction the website seems to be out of service. Even the app is said to not work and has very low ratings. The monthly subscription fee is set at EGP 99, while the full annual subscription is set at EGP 999.

VIU

Fortunately for Egyptian viewers, you can enjoy countless free movies and TV shows on VIU without even having to register. For the first time ever, four VIU Arabic Originals will be available free of cost during Ramadan and for a limited time after that. For completely ad-free streaming and access to the premium content, you need to subscribe with an equivalent of $2.49 in your local currency, which would be around EGP 43.

Possibly the most popular online streaming platform in Egypt so far, Shahid provides you free access to the most talked about Ramadan series, specifically produced by the MBC Group. For ad-free streaming, sign up to Shahid Plus for $4.99, which translates to around EGP 86.

Netflix

Of course, Netflix had to be on this list. While you might not find the most recent Egyptian Ramadan shows on their database, you will have access to intriguing Arab series also worth watching this season. If you don’t know this already, you can choose from different plans to sign up for. Their monthly premium subscription goes up to $11.99, which is around EGP 205.
