Nahla Zayed Amir El-Masry is set to make a double appearance at the 69th BFI London Film Festival, taking part with two films. His feature 100 Nights of Hero has been selected as the festival’s closing film, while his film Giant will also premiere during the event, which runs from October 8 to 19.
Notably, 100 Nights of Hero was previously screened as the closing film of the Critics’ Week competition at the 82nd Venice Film Festival.
In 100 Nights of Hero, El-Masry takes on the role of Jerome in this cinematic adaptation of Isabel Greenberg’s acclaimed graphic novel. Directed by Julia Jackman, the film also features an impressive ensemble cast including Amir El-Masry, Emma Corrin, Maika Monroe, Nicholas Galitzine, and Richard E. Grant.
Set in a remote castle, 100 Nights of Hero explores the upheaval caused by the arrival of a mysterious and charismatic house guest.
Amir El-Masry’s new film Giant is set to hit cinemas across the UK and Europe this October, with releases in the US and the Middle East to follow shortly after.
Inspired by the real-life story of Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed, a British-Yemeni boxer, and his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a world champion and his training under Brendan Ingle who played a crucial role in his success.
Written and directed by Rowan Athale and produced by Sylvester Stallone, Giant features powerful performances from Amir El-Masry and Pierce Brosnan, leading a stellar cast in what promises to be a compelling cinematic experience.
It is worth mentioning that Amir El-Masry received positive critical acclaim for his role in the British film In Camera. The film premiered at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival within the Proxima competition, took part in the 45th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), BFI London Film Festival, and competed for the Sutherland Award.
El-Masry has also wrapped filming The Stories, where he stars alongside Nelly Karim. The film is directed by Abu Bakr Shawky and produced by Mohamed Hefzy of Film Clinic.
