The 38th Cairo International Film Festival, has been the talk of the town for the past month, and is already garnering a lot of attention.

 

Five outstanding Egyptian films will be screened in the festival, while two movies are competing in the international competition titled A Day for Women and The Other Land.

The festival is also scheduled to host in a global celebration that will also be honoring Shakespeare.

To the joy of many many movie lovers, the festival has gained the rights to preview a number of world premieres.

 

For the first time in the festival’s long history, China will be the guest of honor for 2016’s festival, screening multiple Chinese productions from varying genres. Chen Dongyun, the Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy expressed that he was determined to help usher the Egyptian audiences to Chinese culture through the art of cinema.

 

Journalists and students will have the opportunity to obtain special passes in order to enter the festival’s films. Meanwhile, the general audience can book their tickets online or at the box office.
