GQ Mexico’s title of ‘2020 Woman of the Year’ goes to Maite Perroni – a gorgeous Mexican-born bilingual actress, singer and businesswoman.
At the GQ Awards last week, Perroni rocked the red carpet with a striking studded mask. She is mainly known as the lead of the Netflix original thriller series, Dark Desire, where she plays ‘Alma Solares’, an attorney and college professor, who gets betrayed by her husband.

Initially, Perroni rose to fame as part of a Mexican pop group called RBD, created in 2004. As a lead singer, she helped the group gain worldwide attention, and they eventually won too many awards to count, including “Best Group of the Year,” “Best Album of the Year,” “Best Concert,” and “Best Song of the Year.” They have also sold over 50 million records and performed in sold out venues like Estadio Maracaná in Brazil, Madison Square Garden in New York, The L.A. Coliseum, American Airlines Arena in Miami and Estadio Vicente Calderón in Spain. In 2013, Perroni came out with her solo album, Eclipse de Luna, and it was a major success after reaching #2 on the Billboard 100 charts.
As for her life behind closed doors, Perroni has talked about her hobby of cooking a variety of vegetarian dishes, along with hiking, cycling and rollerblading with her husband, who is the Chilean singer-songwriter and producer, Koko Stambuk.
