I like to think that being born under the same zodiac sign means sharing a few celestial similarities. Some reduce each zodiac sign to a single word, impression, or vibe. While I believe in those similarities, I also believe that people are far too complex to be deciphered by their zodiac signs alone. Still, knowing someone’s sign offers a surprisingly revealing glimpse.

Being the cinephile that I am, I couldn’t help but wonder: what’s their zodiac sign?

It’s the question that wanders through my mind while watching almost any film or TV show. I began paying closer attention to fictional characters, and what began as a passing curiosity soon evolved into a personal ritual: watching, dissecting, and decoding their zodiac signs.

So, whether you’re looking for a little clarity, hoping to find your fictional twin, or simply curious to explore your zodiac sign more deeply, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s our Flair guide to finding your fictional doppelgänger.

1- Capricorn — Miranda Hobbes

In astrology, Capricorn is an earth sign ruled by Saturn, the planet of discipline, structure, accountability, and long-term ambition.

Miranda is practically the Capricorn blueprint. Her birthday was never revealed in the series, but anyone with eyes and some experience with a Capricorn, can immediately see the resemblance.

She is famously cynical, blunt, and highly sceptical  of the fairy-tale romances that her friends (especially Charlotte) chase. When faced with a crisis, her instinct is to analyse it logically.

The show made room for women to make the wrong decisions without framing them as something to be ashamed of. Yet I can hardly recall Miranda making a truly disastrous decision. She was the friend you’d always turn to for advice. And even when others couldn’t comprehend her vision at first, time usually vindicated her instincts.

One thing about Capricorns: they’ve already analysed it. Don’t bother second-guessing them.

2- Leo — Daenerys Targaryen

I know you might associate Daenerys with untamed flames, the very image that comes to mind when we hear her formidable name. But she’s not merely fire; she’s the Sun itself, the source of those flames.

Leos are fiercely loyal and protective, with an instinctive command of the spotlight. They rarely turn down a grand entrance, a dramatic moment, or a well-earned round of applause.

Think of Daenerys and her famously theatrical introduction: ‘I am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, and Mother of Dragons…’

And that is precisely why Daenerys makes such a compelling Leo. She was unwavering in her belief in her own destiny, convinced that the crown was hers, and rarely hesitated to pursue it.

One thing about Leos: if they believe the crown is theirs, good luck convincing them otherwise.

3- Scorpio — Natasha Romanoff

Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, the planet of the underworld, unseen power, psychological warfare, and radical reinvention.

Natasha carries the traits of the zodiac sign: enigmatic, intense, and fiercely guarded. She is the ultimate Scorpio embodiment, obsessed with clearing her ledger and redeeming her past sins as she tries to become the person she wants to be

Scorpios are famously associated with the phoenix effect: rising from the ashes, no matter how many times life brings them to their knees. And with Natasha, do I even have to continue? She survived unimaginable trauma and transmuted her pain into power to protect the innocent.

One thing about Scorpios: they can do nothing better than staying undercover. Natasha just happens to make a career out of it.

4- Virgo — Hermione Granger

Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, intellect, memory, and analytical precision. Doesn’t this sound familiar? If you’ve watched Harry Potter or read the books, you probably already know which character I’m talking about.

The description of this zodiac sign sounds almost identical to the words I would use to describe Hermione herself. J.K. Rowling is a genius when it comes to writing her characters; Hermione’s birthday is 19 September, making her a September Virgo. She was known for her unwavering dedication and uncompromising ‘by-the-book’ logic, obsessive scheduling, and practical preparedness. And let’s not forget the countless times she was the very reason Ron and Harry made it this far or even managed to pass their finals.

When it comes to A+, Virgos don’t compete. They monopolise.

5- Aries — Kat Stratford

Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of conflict, action, and raw passion.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac—the pioneer. They hate being told what to do and naturally defy social norms. They have an unmistakable, almost incendiary presence, one that’s unmistakable and undeniable. Aries is the kind of sign whose presence you can feel before they even set foot into a room. Kat was definitely an Aries; five minutes into her opening scene, you could already tell.

She was known for her unapologetic behaviour, untamed spirit, and audacious moves, yet she had a surprisingly romantic side. She was the kind of person who found absolutely no use in explanations. She’d do as she pleased and leave you to piece together the aftermath.

When it comes to taking first steps, Aries are our champions.

When it comes to fire signs in general, you can feel the heat of their flames.

6- Cancer — Daphne Bridgerton

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which is intrinsically linked to shifting emotions, nostalgia, and memory. It is a highly private sign.

Cancers are known for their emotional depth, fierce devotion to family, and a profound sense of nostalgia, which makes everything carry a deeper meaning. What others view as a passing moment, Cancers might hold on to as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something worth recalling and revisiting every once in a while.

By now, Daphne’s character should make sense to you, dearest gentle reader. You might view her focus on finding a husband as superficial, as though she simply wanted what every lady was aiming for at the time. But for Daphne, that wasn’t the case. It wasn’t about following the guidelines; it was about creating a family of her own. Some also described her as impulsive, which is a misleading impression. She’s guided by her intuition and heart over logic, and that’s what marks a true Cancer.

When it comes to gut feelings and listening to their hearts, Cancers are heading for the win.

7- Aquarius — Phoebe Buffay

Aquarius is an air sign ruled by Uranus, the planet of innovation, rebellion, and change. Aquarians march to the beat of their own drum and proudly wear their eccentricity as a beloved brooch. They have little interest in conforming to social convention; they believe in one set of standards, which is, their own. They’re known for being eccentric, humanitarian, intellectual, deeply rebellious, and spacey.

In Friends, Phoebe was indeed born on 16 February, and that’s where we can take our hats off and salute the writers for their remarkable artwork in writing her as a perfect Aquarius. Even if we set aside her fierce independence, sense of justice, and peculiar aesthetic, can we ever overlook her unapologetic eccentricity?

From her bizarre song lyrics, like Smelly Cat, to her beliefs in reincarnation and aura cleansing, Phoebe thrives on being different. She never tries to blend in with mainstream society.

When it comes to labels, Aquarius doesn’t give a damn.

8- Gemini — Harley Quinn

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet associated with communication, intellect, and wit. Geminis are restless social chameleons. They effortlessly recalibrate their tone, language, and humour to fit whatever room or crowd they are in. They also have a trickster’s streak : they love wordplay, sarcasm, and playful banter. They use humour and intellect as both a social tool and a defence mechanism.

Harley’s character aligns perfectly with this sign, beautifully mirroring both its strengths and shadows. Gemini’s defining trait is its dual nature, which is exactly what Harley embodies. She never entirely shed Dr. Harleen Quinzel behind; instead, she kept moving between identities, switching between the villain and the anti-hero.

I mean, why choose one when you can be both, right? That’s their label.

Geminis are allergic to boredom and always need a partner in crime. Harley just happened to make hers her love interest, too.

One thing about Geminis: boredom is never, and shall never be, on their agenda.

9- Pisces — Hanna Marin

Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet that represents the subconscious, dreams, secrets, and endings.

Pisces are known for their fierce emotional intuition, deep empathy, and their signature  ‘act first, think later’ approach. They rely mainly on their instincts. Pisces is a mutable sign, meaning they are highly adaptable and can morph into whatever they need to be. This might connect the dots on how easily Hanna transformed her identity after Alison went missing, shifting from ‘Hefty Hanna’ to the school’s IT girl—a classic Piscean move.

Hanna was guided by her emotions while navigating a labyrinth of secrets, mysteries, and deception. Following her instincts often got her into trouble, but they never failed to prove how much she cared.

One thing about Pisces: in a world full of logic and mind-mappers, they’ll always choose their heart and intuition.

10- Libra — Cher Horowitz

Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, style, and social harmony.

Libras are known for constantly seeking balance and justice around them, which often gets them mistaken for people-pleasers. They’re obsessed with partnerships, romance, and harmony, which is exactly why Cher couldn’t rest when people were “misaligned.”

Apply this to Cher: when she sees Tai, she doesn’t just see a new girl; she sees an “aesthetic project.” She believes that refining someone’s outer world can bring peace and elevation to their inner world. She listens to an argument, weighs it, and reframes it to find common ground.

One thing about Libras: they won’t rest until their surroundings are balanced and the energy feels lighter on both sides of the scale, not just one.

11- Sagittarius — Céline

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of fortune, expansion, optimism, and abundance.

Sagittarians are known for their strong moral compass, spirituality, and constant wandering in search of meaning. They’re incurable  wanderers; at this point, some might even say the Vikings were all Sagittarians.

Sagittarius is the seeker of the zodiac, obsessed with freedom, philosophy, and meaning. They have a fierce idealism tempered by a disarming, sometimes brutal honesty. They love pursuing the truth, looking beneath the surface, and experiencing life through as many perspectives as possible .

So, what makes Céline the ideal Sagittarius?

Her deep, sprawling conversations with Jesse about life, death, love, and the cosmos perfectly match the Sagittarian desire to understand the world. She also resists being tied down by conventional expectations. Her fiery independence and need to roam—both physically and intellectually—are quintessential Sagittarian traits.

One thing about Sagittarius: their horizons are boundless. A closed mind is simply not an option.

12- Taurus — Katniss Everdeen

Taurus is traditionally ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, money, and luxury. Taureans are steadfast, dependable, and grounded in reality. They favor concrete results over abstract ideas. Once they make up their minds or set a boundary, it is nearly impossible to move them, which explains why their symbol is the bull.

Katniss is an actual Taurus, born on 8 May, which leaves me fascinated by the writers once again. Despite all the tangled events, they still managed to write her as the ideal Taurus.

It’s the unyielding survival instinct of an Earth sign that defines true Taurus energy. At their core, Taureans are driven by the need for safety, stability, and survival. Katniss has no interest in glory, revolution, or abstract political ideals. They are also notoriously resistant to control. The Capitol tries to mould Katniss into a glamorous celebrity, while the rebels try to turn her into a political puppet. She resists both.

The whole aesthetic of The Hunger Games, along with how well Katniss adapts to the wild, makes you feel that the woods are her sanctuary. And honestly, that’s not entirely wrong. At the end of the day, she’s an Earth sign who finds comfort and solace in nature.

One thing about Taurus: time can change people, but a Taurus’s opinions will never budge.
