Allianz Egypt Concludes First of its Kind Padel Tennis Tournament in Cooperation with SR Padel

Allianz Egypt – an affiliate of Sanlam Allianz Africa – wrapped up on 23rd of February the first-ever padel tournament in Egypt – Allianz Grand Padel Tournament.

The five-day tournament was organized by Allianz Egypt in cooperation with SR Padel, hosting 132 participating teams along with prominent international players in Cairo for the first time. 

Allianz Egypt’s partnership with SR Padel that started in 2019, conforms to the company’s commitment to social responsibility as a leading insurer, paying special attention to supporting sports and athletes in Egypt as well as promoting international cooperation in the field. 

Egypt has recently witnessed a rapid prevalence of padel tennis for is accessible and easy to practice. About 8000 players, from different backgrounds, currently practice the sport in the country. Allianz Grand Padel Tournament is a key step in boosting the presence of Egyptian players internationally, which enabled them to meet key players such as Argentine’s Tito Allemandi and Tolito Aguirre.

Allianz Egypt’s partnership with SR Padel has added to its track record of sponsorships of sports and athletes. The leading insurer has sponsored its ambassadors of Olympic and Paralympic champions and the Egyptian Paralympic Committee since 2017; and it has been the exclusive insurer of both the international Olympic Committee and Paralympic Committee since 2021.

The company has further launched the “Allianz Athlete Experience” in 2021, the first of its kind in the private sector. The leading insurer has also been the exclusive sponsor of the Egyptian Basketball Federation and the National Basketball Team since last year.
