The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) has announced that acclaimed actress Salma Abu Deif will serve as a jury member for the Critics’ Week competition at the 46th edition of the festival.

Alongside this honor, Salma continues to make waves across cinema and television. She is currently starring in the highly anticipated sequel Hepta 2, continuing the legacy of the original Hepta: The Last Lecture, a 2016 blockbuster that garnered critical acclaim and audience admiration. Based on Mohamed Sadek’s bestselling 2014 novel, the romantic drama is directed by Hadi El Bagoury and features a stellar ensemble cast including Menna Shalaby, Salma Abu Deif, Karim Kassem, Karim Fahmy, and others.
On the television front, Salma is filming Beng Kully, a medical drama in which she stars opposite Diab. The series, written by Mohamed Suliman Abdel Malek and directed by Nadine Khan, is produced by Abdallah Abu Al-Fotouh and set to air in the upcoming off-season.
In cinema, Salma is also working on Egy Best, co-starring Ahmed Malek, written by Ahmed Hosni, and directed by Marwan Abdel Moneim.
Her recent Ramadan 2024 hit series A’la Nesbet Moshahda, inspired by true events, received widespread critical and audience acclaim. The series features a star-studded cast including Salma Abu Deif, Laila Ahmed Zaher, Farah Youssef, Jala Hesham, Entesar, Mohamed Mahmoud, Ahmed Fahim, and Islam Ibrahim. Produced by Abdallah Abul Fetouh, written by Samar Taher, and directed by Yasmine Ahmed Kamel, the series earned Salma the Best Actress award across multiple audience polls for her standout performance.
