Then & Now

If you grew up in the 90s, then there’s no doubt that you’ve at least heard of the film Clueless, assuming you haven’t watched it a million times like myself!  Being a huge fan of the film and tying it to a plethora of fun memories, I couldn’t wait to interview Stacey Dash, who played Dionne.  Wondering what she’s up to?  Stacey fills us in!

Growing up, I was obsessed (literally) with Clueless the movie!  It’s still one of my favorites!  Tell me about how you landed that role.

I auditioned for it. I read for the part about five times, to test for chemistry. It was narrowed down to two people, Donald Faison and Terrance Howard. Donald and I had the best chemistry.

Your character was the epitome of “cool;” did you enjoy playing Dionne?

I love her! She’s my favorite character I’ve ever played so far in my career.

What about the Clueless TV series.  How different was that from the film?

It was very different. Amy was not there to write and direct, but I enjoyed it.

Out of the roles you’ve played,
which is your favorite?

Dionne is my favorite.

Which character was closest to the “real you”?

If you are asking about Clueless, Dionne.

If you are asking about all the roles I’ve played I’d have to say – Kim “Gang of Roses”

I know you just landed a deal with FOX as a correspondence; can you tell me more about that?

I am a Fox contributor now; I share my opinion on politics, social issues and entertainment it’s very gratifying

How different–do you think–will this project be from your previous experiences on screen?

It’s much different; I’m not acting.  It is me giving my point of view on issues that pertain to the state of our entire world; hopefully I can make a difference.

If you could choose, who would you like to work with?

I want to work with Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio,  Jennifer Lawrence,  Amy Adams, Matt Damon Jack Nicolson, Michael Mann,  Woody Allen and, Clint Eastwood to name a few…

Any specific types of projects you’d like to explore?

Yes, I’d like to play a dark villain and

I’d like to play a super hero

Other than acting, how do you spend your free time?  Any hobbies?

I love to ride horses, I do kung fu, and I write…

What about hidden talents?

I am a dancer and a singer.

Any words of wisdom for our readers?

Always stand for something or you will fall for everything. It’s never too soon and it’s never too late.
