The K-pop idols now are formally representatives of the French fashion house after wearing personalised Louis Vuitton fits to the Grammy Awards 2021.
BTS, the K-pop superstars, have become the new brand ambassadors for French luxury house Louis Vuitton. Leaders of the Grammy-nominated band include RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, who are recognised for their impeccable fashion sense, wearing it all from streetwear to designer brands with ease.
“I am delighted BTS are joining Louis Vuitton today,” Virgil Abloh, the artistic director at Vuitton, revealed in a statement. “I am looking forward to this wonderful partnership, which adds a modern chapter to the house, merging luxury and contemporary culture. I can’t wait to share all the very exciting projects we are working on.”
The company also shared a new photo of the boys, who are dressed in contrasting pastel jackets and jerseys similar to their famous costumes in the Dynamite new song.
BTS responded in a tweet, saying, “Becoming global brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton is a truly exciting moment for us.” We are very excited about our forthcoming collaborations with Virgil Abloh.”
Vuitton has also used the influence of K-pop to its advantage by recruiting BTS doing a promotional launch ahead of Abloh’s fall 2021 range for Vuitton, which was released in January. BTS, for instance, has 40.2 million Instagram followers. The key topic of discussion on the internet was about whether BTS would attend the exhibition, which was shot in Paris lacking visitors due to continuing restrictions related to the coronavirus epidemic.
The boy band’s huge success and chic look have enabled them to win over main fashion figures. BTS was named to Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed List for 2019. They were appointed global brand representatives for Fila that year, and they were styled by Dior’s men’s menswear designer Kim Jones, who designed stage costumes for a leg of the group’s “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” world tour.
