“Dior Stands With Women” Campaign

By  |

On September 21st, the French luxury brand Dior launched a new perfume campaign featuring some of the most iconic women from around the world. The “Dior Stands with Women” campaign launched a series of short films celebrating ten amazing women and their contributions to their individual fields. “Whether they are unknown to the public or internationally famous, they are each as passionate and committed and have all worked to make an impact on the world. Today, they proudly share their journeys as examples that can inspire other women,” said the company via a press statement. Stars like Congolese artist Pamela Tulizo, Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani, Academy Award nominee Yalitza Aparicio, and model-activist Leyna Bloom have teamed up to help Dior celebrate femininity and female achievement.

A post on Dior’s Instagram said, “Inspired by the exceptional women who have marked its history, Christian Dior Parfums unveils a series of short filmed portraits that give a chance to speak to extraordinary women.” More than just paying lip service to the social justice cause, Dior has also announced that it will continue to support Charlize Theron’s African Outreach Project (CTAOP) an organization that “… invests in African youth and their ability to keep themselves and their peers safe from HIV/AIDS.” The pledge comes with a promise to cover the foundation’s Youth Leadership scholarships for tuition, room and board, books, travel, mentorship, and laptops over the next four years.

“As a woman, I’d love to see a world in which we don’t have to perform what it is to be a woman, you know; get to see a space where I don’t have to question: What would it look like if I didn’t have to do that?”
