You might have come across her à la mode instagram blog ‘Dressup With Jay’ but in case you haven’t, Jessica Toutounji is an up-and-coming influencer with a creative, unique take on fashion, makeup and occasional beauty tips. Since Valentine’s day is approaching, we asked Jessica to create a few themed looks that she would personally wear on this occasion.

“I know a lot of you will be frantically looking for inspiration for a suitable outfit to wear and I’ve got you! I put together some not-so-basic outfits for any type of date you’re going on, either with your significant other, a friend or a group. (Unfortunately, I’ll be spending it alone with Netflix and some chips this year, but that won’t stop me from helping you out.) I love fashion so much that it’s all my life revolves around. I always keep up with all the latest trends through Pinterest or by just watching fashion shows and taking notes.”

A Simple White Dress

“This outfit is the fanciest one I put together for V-day. This is for a date at a fancy restaurant where you won’t really have to move around or walk a lot. I picked white for this because I think it’s an elegant colour, plus anything can go with it. You can wear some red lipstick with it too but I didn’t because I already went a tad bit dramatic with the eye makeup. I’d advise you to focus a lot on the eye makeup because you’ll definitely be doing a lot of eye contact on that date, so mascara is of the utmost importance. You also don’t want to go too overboard with the eye shadow so I’d say go for a light and warm colour. I went for silver jewelry for this look because I thought it would look the most elegant with the dress.”

Dress – Merna Rady

Bag – Akmi bags

Shoes – Topshop

Red Top & Leather Pants

“This is the only outfit you’ll find me in with this much red but the top is really cute so I paired it with leather pants and high heeled boots to add a little more edge. I added some layered gold necklaces, earrings and a small bag with it, along with a belt to emphasize curves a bit more. This outfit you can wear to a bar or restaurant that’s less fancy than a fine dining restaurant, but fancier than a normal cafe, especially since the top is cropped.”

Red top – H&M

Pants & shoes – Zara

Bag – Topshop

Off-the-Shoulder Wrap

“This outfit is super cute, yet the boots and bag also add that subtle edge to it at the same time. I definitely wanted to add some florals because they really fit the Valentine theme. I would wear this to a similar location, such as a bar or restaurant, like the former outfit. You’ll probably need a long coat since the weather is cold at the moment and you can go for a red lip with this one, too.”

Heels – Agrodolce store

High-Neck & Jeans

“This outfit is one of the comfier ones for Valentine’s day, so it’s suitable for any date that involves a lot of walking or any fun activities planned. You can add a top under the jumper since it’s a bit cropped and I added a leather blazer on top because it would make the outfit look a lot less basic. I have a red lip here too and I would recommend you wear a bold pair of earrings if you’ll put your hair up in a bun so that it completes the look.”

Blazer, Jumper & Boots – Zara

Bag – Aliel

Jeans – Calvin Klein

A Plaid Skirt

“This outfit gave me extreme Rachel Green vibes. It will work for most dates since it’s not too casual and not too fancy. You can wear a longer skirt too and it would still match nicely with a high-neck top. It’s a typical winter outfit with the plaid skirt, the blazer – which can be replaced with a black coat – and the shoes too, which can also be replaced with longer boots. This will be good for any walks in the cold… or hot, you never know these days.”

Top – Bershka

Blazer, Bag & Skirt – Zara
