Yes, Egyptians everywhere are bursting with pride. Rami Malek and Ramy Youssef have been announced as nominees for the upcoming Golden Globes, which will be held on 5 January 2020. Malek is recognized for his performance in Mr. Robot and Youssef for his performance in Ramy. The Egyptian-American actors were nominated for ‘Best Actor in a Television Series’ – Malek under the Drama category and Youssef under Musical or Comedy.

Earlier this year, Malek had already won an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for his role in Bohemian Rhapsody. He literally wastes no time.

As for Youssef, what you may not know is that he doesn’t just play the protagonist in Ramy but he’s also the creator and executive producer of the series. It follows his personal childhood and his identity issues being born and growing up in the US with Egyptian parents.
