Flair Magazine Michael Kors is a brand known for its cool American aesthetic, sophisticated luxury, and of course its coveted handbags. David Downtown is arguably one of the most famous and renowned fashion artists of all time. His elegant elegant drawings and portraits of the world’s most stylish women have been celebrated in publications such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar and The Times for over two decades.
For the Fall 2018/2019 Michael Kors collaborated with David Downton on a special edition capsule collection that debuted during the Michael Kors Collection runway show at New York Fashion Week. The result was spectacular. Not only did Downtown illustrate stylish figures of women that were elegantly placed on handbags, but his print also made it as a print into some of the Ready To Wear designs.
“This is our first collaboration with an artist for Michael Kors Collection, and it is very personal,” says Michael. “David captures people’s essence and style without feeling the need to draw every detail about them—it’s the magic of a great illustrator.”
