There is no doubt that 2020 has been an insane rollercoaster, and we’re all low-key glad the ride is finally coming to an end. For the longest time, elegant makeup looks were traded in for face masks and glamour was traded in for buns and hoodies. Envisioning the post-quarantine revival of luxury, this shoot was put together fusing concepts from the Renaissance, Baroque, the 20s and 30s, old Hollywood glamour and Greco-Roman luxury.

Outfit – Rigash by Lamia Rady, Earrings – Mirna Nakhla

Captured by a group of young creatives who have a collective interest in fashion, the shoot is a passion project, a fun interpretation of ‘ancient glamour’, and what it would look like in 2020 using bold, edgy local brands.

“We wanted to present it in our own way by using creative mediums such as photography, videography and creative direction and through utilizing a few local brands that have this intense, luxurious edge that is glamorous yet still Middle Eastern and down-to-earth. It is meant to show how after a year of wearing nothing but sweats and staying at home, ancient glamour is very much alive, Arab and modernized,” stylist Taya Bakhoum told us.
