The 40 WiNKS Hotel

Set in the very trendy–and vibrant–East London, David Carter’s home is an elegant, and definitely historic, four-storey Queen Anne townhouse, built in 1717. Carter, who is an internationally acclaimed interior designer, truly worked his magic, giving birth to a whimsical, crazy, romantic, and eclectic micro-boutique hotel, drawing attention from all over the globe.

Dubbed “one of the British capital’s best kept secrets” by French Elle Décoration, it’s as romantic as it is bold and fantastical.
The perfect mélange of old and new, the marriage of shabby-chic and extravagance, Carter’s home oozes wit, charm, and a dash of crazy, making it one of the–if not the– most unique hotels out there.

For a plethora of years, the house has been one of the British capital’s most loved location properties, providing a luxurious and playful backdrop for numerous fashion shows and shoots.

In 2009, however, 40 WiNKS was officially launched, providing a fun and interesting place for photographers, art directors, buyers, designers, stylists, and models to stay–whether for work, or for pleasure. With only two bedrooms available, the theatrical hotel received countless reviews and pages in the press, catching every artist’s eye, providing a spot that is truly magical and spectacular.
Their concept is simple, providing a ‘ home from home’ with a twist of quirkiness, opulence, and a trip down the rabbit hole.
