The Chufy x Mango Exclusive Collection

By  |

In a brilliant collaboration with Mango, Sofia Sanchez de Betak designed an exclusive capsule collection this summer that is the ultimate blueprint for feminine resort wear. The director of her own fashion label, ‘Chufy’, Sofia has actually collaborated with Mango for over four years, starring in different campaigns. In 2019, she even wore a stunning Mango piece to the MET Gala, and fun note – this happened to be the first time for a Spanish brand to attend such a prestigious event in the fashion industry.

Inspired by Mediterranean vibes, along with a fusion of scents and visuals related to such a theme, this collaborative campaign features six gorgeous flowing dresses, all made with sustainable fabrics, like organic cotton and recycled polyester. You will spot a lot of Boho prints, ranging from floral designs to paisley and geometric.

On this joint creative process, Sofia said, “This collection is the result of a long and fruitful relationship with the Mango family and myself. After years of collaborating we’ve got to understand each other so well, and enjoy the creative process so much that working together feels natural and joyful. Still, having my work traveling the world alongside such an iconic brand is an honor I never imagined possible.”

The theme of each design presents a very laid back style, highlighted by delicate details such as frills, cords and textures. Shot by Nacho Alegre, in none other than Mallorca, Spain’s most beloved Balearic island in the Mediterranean, the campaign offers a captivating, picturesque aesthetic that instantly takes your mind on vacation.

Regarding the harmony in the making of this collection, Mango’s design director, Justi Ruano, said, “We have known Sofia for some time and we are on the same wavelength, so collaborating with her was a pleasure. Her effortless style and naturalness fit perfectly with our brand and it was so easy to work with her, she is such a creative person.”

By now, we can tell that Mango handpicks certain talents when it comes to collaborations. On different occasions, the brand joined hands with artists and brands with complementary style and values. This project, for example, definitely hits the mark, reinforcing Mango’s efforts to stay connected to the community and inspire with a passion for culture and style.
