PS, I Love You Gets a Sequel and Gerry is Back!

PS, I Love You is actually getting a sequel, and yes, all romance fans are very interested. Written by Cecelia Ahern PS, I Love You follows the story of Holly, a widow whose husband, Gerry, left her 10 letters each taking her on a different adventure. The letters are meant to have Holly to move on from his death which she, spoiler alert, eventually does. The book wrapped up quite nicely, giving us a heartfelt and complete ending. So the question is, what will the sequel be about?

According to Ahern the sequel is to include both Holly and, surprisingly, Gerry. Specifically Ahern says “I hope you welcome back Holly… & Gerry… and that reading it will be as emotional for you as it was for me.” Of course this left us all asking: how? Having a Cecelia Ahern make you emotional is nothing new, but the idea of a returning Gerry brings up a lot of questions and a suspense the initial book didn’t leave us with.

What we do know is that the sequel will be titled Postscript, aka the unabbreviated term for PS.  We left Holly off with the confidence to finally follow her dreams and maybe love again. Will some final unopened letters make their way into her new life? Or will the story take a more technological route and have Holly find some unopened emails? The possibilities are as enticing as they are endless, and we can’t wait till September 19^th to find out how the loveable Gerry makes his way back into Holly’s life.
