Kirsten Dunst Receives Hollywood Honor

By  |

Twenty-five years after her breakout role in the Hollywood blockbuster Interview with a Vampire, where she got to share her first-ever kiss with the dreamy Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst has received her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 37-year-old actress was honored on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles last week by fans, friends, family and other A-list celebrities, as she emotionally accepted her star. Dunst looked amazing in a simple summer dress and was accompanied by her fiancé Jesse Plemons and the couple’s son Ennis Howard who made the ceremony his first public event.

Dunst is a household name who started her illustrious career when she was just 12 years old. Since then she has starred in major motion pictures like The Virgin Suicides, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Marie Antoinette, Spiderman, Dick and Bring It On. Even with a long list of accolades, Dunst recently discussed feeling underestimated in Hollywood during an interview with Sirius XM Radio. She discussed how she has been overlooked by the industry and has always felt like an outsider with many of her films receiving credit years after they debut. “I’ve never been recognized in my industry,” she said, before adding, “I’ve never been nominated for anything. Maybe, like, twice for Golden Globes when I was little and one for Fargo. But, like, I always feel like nobody—I don’t know. Maybe they think I’m just the girl from Bring It On? I don’t know.”

The blonde starlet was teary-eyed as she accepted her award last Thursday. Her fiancé, who she met in 2016 on the set of the television show Fargo gave a heartfelt speech praising his soon to be wife. “Aside from the brilliant actor you are, I’ve also had the even greater pleasure of getting to know you as a person outside of work. Seeing the kind of mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and cohort you are is why I and all of your friends and everyone else are here today and why we all love you. You are truly one of a kind and the best woman I know. I’m truly so lucky to have you in my life, and Hollywood Boulevard is so lucky to have you on its sidewalks.”
