Design Ancora: Gucci Special Edition Pieces

For Milan Design Week, Gucci Presents Five Icons of Italian Quality craftsmanship

The immersive exhibition featuring five icons of Italian design at Gucci’s main shop in Milan’s via Monte Napoleone officially opened this week. Spanish architect Guillermo Santomà created an immersive display that featured the re-edited and customised pieces.

The items that were selected to be a part of Gucci Design Ancora were given life in order to symbolise the height of Italina design. It symbolises the crucial bond that exists between industrial production, handicraft, and designers and brands. Every item has been retouched in Rosso Ancora, the shade of red that De Sarno selected to symbolise the start of Gucci’s next artistic phase. The pieces are displayed at the Gucci Milan flagship against a green wall that curves, a colour that Sabto De Sarno also selected as the backdrop. This creates a metaphysical space where each object appears on its own, presented as an idea rather than as a simple product, giving the impression that boundaries are blurring. Examine the bits that are above.
