Chloé Winter 2020 Fashion Show

Through painting, sculpture and poetry, the Chloé Winter 2020 fashion show represented a variety of feminine worlds. The brand’s creative director – and might we add mastermind – Natacha Ramsay-Levi evidently envisioned way beyond what a classical collection entails.

Adorned with the sculptor Marion Verboom’s totems, the show started with the voice of Marianne Faithfull reading from a canon of classic poetry. In this engaging setting, the ready-to-wear collection was unveiled, along with a line by painter Rita Ackermann, Ramsay Levi’s longtime friend. 

Weaving together multiple female stories, the Winter 2020 collection was modeled by a global cast of independent characters. The color scheme was many tones of heather and dun, ochre, chestnut, dusty blues and burnt sienna. Highlights we recognized were shirt dresses, hunting jackets and flared suits, along with exquisite details like beaded collars, cross-stitches and Art Nouveau petals on evening dresses.

As for the accessories collection, you will notice the mini Daria bag is crafted in stamped croc and corduroy suede, while the slouchy Darryl hobo appears in pebbled calfskin and rich suede. Making its runway debut, the double buckled Franne micro crossbody is juxtaposed with roomy Fredy totes stamped with a geometric monogram. Last but not least, we loved the lace-up boots and Chelsea boots featuring stamped exotic leathers.
