At the ninth edition of the Narrative Summit, world-renowned jewelry designer Azza Fahmy delivered more than a speech—she unveiled a vision for the future of Egypt’s creative industry. In a heartfelt address, Fahmy announced the establishment of the Azza Fahmy Design School in Aswan and the Azza Fahmy Foundation for Training, two groundbreaking initiatives dedicated to nurturing Egypt’s next generation of artisans and designers.

A Legacy of Empowerment
Driven by a development-focused approach, both initiatives aim to strengthen Egypt’s jewelry sector by offering professional training to aspiring talents—particularly young women. Fahmy spoke passionately about the school’s mission to make design education more accessible, noting that many current designers had the privilege of studying abroad, an opportunity not available to all.
“I’m proud to have founded a school in Aswan that teaches jewelry design to young women,” she shared. “Many graduates are now working as professional designers and have become sources of income for their families.”
Preserving Heritage Through Education
More than a brand, Azza Fahmy’s legacy is deeply rooted in cultural preservation. Through the Azza Fahmy Foundation—a nonprofit organization—she is committed to protecting Egypt’s traditional crafts. The foundation offers vocational training, supports young entrepreneurs, and helps create employment opportunities in the craft industry, ensuring that Egypt’s artisanal heritage continues to thrive for generations to come.
Fahmy emphasized that these projects form part of the group’s broader social responsibility agenda—one that values creativity, community, and continuity.
Regional Growth, Global Reach
Beyond her efforts in Egypt, Fahmy highlighted the recent expansion of the Azza Fahmy brand, including a new boutique in Saudi Arabia. Designed to reflect the richness of Egyptian identity, the store was warmly received by Saudi clientele. With a growing presence in London, Doha, Dubai, Jordan, and across Egypt, the brand’s regional and global footprint continues to grow—while staying true to its roots.
A Journey Fueled by Passion and Purpose
Reflecting on her creative journey, Fahmy shared that her greatest sources of inspiration are found in books, museums, and the cultural diversity of the Arab world. Her travels, her interactions with artisans, and her deep appreciation for historical craftsmanship have long shaped her philosophy. “It’s a path I envisioned over 50 years ago—to explore, learn, and preserve the art of jewelry-making and Arab folk traditions.”
As she continues to build bridges between heritage and innovation, Azza Fahmy remains not only a pioneer of design but also a powerful advocate for social impact, education, and cultural identity.
