Podcasts are the new way of life in this quarantine era. Lucky for us, Radical Contemporary have hopped on this train and launched their own podcast to give voice to various stories of young creatives in the MENA region. We’re excited about it for many reasons, beginning with the fact that it happens to be the region’s first contemporary podcast that is both youth-oriented and has something in it for everyone. Whatever content or creative field you may be interested in, the guest list includes writers, designers, musicians, filmmakers, intellectuals, cultural producers, dreamers and thought-leaders.

So far, they have featured Natasha Yonan, Ali Chaaban, Iman El Deeb and Muhcine Ennou. We talked to the founder, Nour Hassan, to learn more about her vision behind the podcast and what inspires her to take this route.

“It came about when I felt no one was really telling our story as MENA region creatives. I also felt podcasting is the future of content and it was something I had been wanting to do for a while now. I thought it would be the perfect time to feature some strong characters I know within the industry and tell their stories authentically. Topics will range from entrepreneurship, fashion, culture, food, wellness, music and everything that falls under the umbrella of being a creative innovator and pioneer.”

Her co-host is stylist Yasmine Kenawi and they will be featuring guests almost every single episode. “But then, every once in a while you might get a solo show. Our guests will be from all over the region – Jeddah, Dubai, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Jordan,” she said. This summer during the months of July and August, the podcast will be powered by the G Hotel, a holistic lifestyle hotel that believes in supporting innovators across all fields, including health and fitness, wellness, art, fashion and beauty.

Concerning her vision for this podcast, she told us, “I want to change the narrative. I want people to understand the level and quality of work that comes out of the region, and how incredibly strong we are, being the first generation to actually share their story. This is what I want people to get out of the podcast – to learn how to fearlessly build a brand in 2020 and listen to a variety of young creatives as they express themselves and talk about how they succeeded.”
