We are used to seeing the season’s trends through the viewpoint of international fashion houses, so it is refreshing to get the lowdown on the season’s hottest trends from Egypt’s best local designers. For the latest season, Cairo’s Fashion PR agency Flare has created a shoot combining art and fashion in order to showcase Egypt’s emerging talents, focusing not only on fashion designers but Egypt’s artists as well.
Describing the shoot to us, the agency said that “the beauty of this shoot is that each designer is completely different and unique in their style and aesthetic, yet in order to create a successful editorial story, we sought to unite their unique identities under a common theme which was six look book portraits inspired by Flare’s vision of the strongest Spring/Summer 2018 trends” The shoot brings together a selection of Egyptian Ready-To-Wear and Accessories brands showcasing their new collections.
The shoot took place at Cairo’s leading Arts-Mart Gallery, an art exhibition space where art enthusiasts can immerse themselves into the experience of viewing and shopping for artwork by local prominent as well as emerging artists in a creative and inspiring venue. These artists include big names such as Ibrahim El Tanbouli, Ayyad El Nimer and Klay Kassem. Designers included in the shoot are Lou By Hebatullah, O Random, Zakhrafa, Amina K, Azwak, MGMP, Misura, Jayda Hany, Omni’s, Gamila, Indira, and finally Egyptian Eyewear Boutique Posh Shades which is a concept eyewear boutique offering carefully curated international eye wear by Egyptian Yasmine Sarwat. Trends featured in the shoot include athleisure, haute denim, sheer, pastels, metallics, plastic, mixed prints, and more.
