It seems like everything old is new again and cult classics from the eighties an nineties are being recreated for modern audiences. Already in theatres, this remake of Stephen Kings epic 80s book IT is definitely a movie to see this fall. If your squeamish then sit this one out because this movie is filled with absolute horror at every turn. Based on the 1986 New York Times best-seller a group of young kids encounter a demonic creature. This terrifying clown that the kids call Pennywise, stalks the children and bring to life each of their deepest fears. From dead siblings to burning houses this feature film is the true definition of horror movie.

 

The Mountain Between Us

Palestinian filmmaker and two-time Oscar foreign-language nominee Hany Abu-Assad gives his fans something unexpected with his new movie The Mountain Between Us. Staring big name blockbuster names like Kate Winslet an Idris Elba the movie follows two strangers who are stranded together on a mountain after a plane crash. The drama unfolds as Winset and Elba must work together to survive the elements and make their way to safety. This drama/adventure highlights the strength of the human spirit to overcome even the most trying situations. In theaters early October.

 

Home Again

America’s sweetheart known for roles in hit movies like Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, and Sweet Home Alabama Reese Witherspoon stars in the romantic comedy Home Again in theatres this fall. Playing recent separated middle aged Alice Kinney; Reese starts her life over again by moving to Los Angeles with her two daughters. A now a single mom with a fresh outlook on life she invites three young filmmakers to stay in her guesthouse. In typical rom-com fashion a romance unfolds with one of the young men and Reese’s character is caught between a rock and a hard place when her ex-husband shows up at the door with a suitcase.

 

Justice League

In November, Justice League will hit the big screen with an all-star cast of action heroes including Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller and many more. Justice League, a DC Comics collaboration will focus on Batman and Wonder Woman as they rally the troops to form a superhero super team. If this isn’t super enough, characters including The Flash, Superman, Cyborg, and Aquaman will be featured on the big screen to make all of our childhood comic book dreams come to life once again. Will it be too late to save the planet from disaster or will the Justice League save the day?

 

Mother!

Already in theaters Mother! is already receiving a lot of buzz and audiences around the world are trying to decide if they love it or hate it. Getting very mixed reviews, this movie is definitely award worthy as its this psychological thriller takes audiences on a ride through the complex roller-coaster of human emotions. From filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem this bizarre but riveting movie is essentially a big religious metaphor ending in tragedy. A psychological thriller that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat this fall.
