Fashion and style

Back to Black
As much as we all love black shoes, men and women alike, when it comes to you gentlemen, please wear black when you’re wearing black clothes…other than that, consider other colors, because in the end, black can translate into “boring.”
Suit-Up
If the suit doesn’t fit you perfectly, and I mean perfectly, either get rid of it or get it tailored. No one wants to see you in a suit that doesn’t flatter your figure.
Slimming Stripes
For a slimming effect, go for vertical stripes. Avoid the horizontal ones!
Brazen Blazers
Do not match your blazer with similar colored dress pants. To stay safe, opt for the blazer-jeans combo.
Tight vs. Loose
In other words, do not wear tight clothing from head to toe in order to avoid looking like a sausage, and also don’t go for a loose–and unflattering–total look.
Flip Flops Faux-Pas
These are to be worn at home, or at the beach…period!
Simplicity is Key
When it comes to T-shirts, please keep it simple. Even if you’re a huge fan of an 80s rock band, simplicity is the way to go!
Perfect Pants
If you can see your socks while walking, then your pants are too short. When it doubt, go for slightly longer pants rather than shorter ones.
Tedious Ties
Ties should cover your collar button and most of your top trouser button. Anything longer will look ridiculous!
Variety Gone Bad
Have a favorite pair of jeans that flatter your figure? Great! Go buy yourself five of the same pair. In this case, variety is not always good, so when you find that perfect pair of denim or that perfect blazer, stick to it!
Au Revoir Criss-Cross
Criss-cross lacing works for trainers, and that’s about it! Opt for straight-bar lacing when it comes to classic shoes instead.
Slender Hues
For a slimming effect, dress mainly in one color. For example, navy blue jeans, navy blue blazer, and a white tee.
Sexy Shoulders
Not everyone is blessed with wide shoulders…so, if you’re one of the many that do not fall under the latter category, opt for sweaters and/or shirts that come with shoulder details. I guarantee you, you’ll create an illusion of extra width.
To Contrast or Not to Contrast?
Nothing is wrong with contrasts…as long as you don’t fall into the following trap; if you’re wearing a light shirt and a pair of light jeans, then do not wear a dark belt. And vice versa: dark shirt+dark pants should be paired with a pale belt.
Secret Stash
Keep a grooming kit nearby; you never know when you’ll need it! Keep a comb or hairbrush, perfume, deodorant, breath freshener, and a small mirror in your secret kit.
De-clutter
If you haven’t worn an item in three years, you most likely won’t wear it again. In that case, please get it out of your closet, and feel free to donate it to a charity.
