In case you have not written down your to-watch list for 2020, look no further. We have your back. Our list includes Netflix & Disney+ productions, based-on-real-events series, awaited works and more.

The Crown

No metaphors intended in the title; the series is a Netflix historical drama production portraying the journey of Queen Elizabeth II. It covers Elizabeth’s life from her younger years to her reign in the 21st century. After 3 successful seasons, the fourth, which is to be released later this year, will introduce the beloved late Princess Diana. If you are wondering about the historical accuracy, Peggy Noonan of The Wall Street Journal commented on the historical inaccuracy of the series, and argued for “more truth in art and entertainment”. However, we are still yearning to see how Princess Diana will be presented on our little screens.

Detective Ralph Anderson struggles to solve the bizarre case asking one question: How can one person be in two places at the same time? The first episode was aired on the 12th of January, starring Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelsohn.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

It is no shame admitting you still love that kids’ show and willing to watch the live-action adaptation of the animated series of the famous series, centering on the adventures of Aang and his friends, who fight to save the world by defeating the Fire-Nation. The release date has not been set yet but Netflix made it clear that it will be a 2020 hit. The live-action remake will not deviate from the main theme of the original show. Though the timeline is unsure, we can confirm that the development is going strong.

Star Trek: Picard

Premiered on January 23, 2020, the first season will consist of 10 episodes. It is the eighth series in the Star Trek franchise and centers on the character Jean-Luc Picard, played by the great Patrick Steward. He is still deeply affected by the loss of Lieutenant Commander Data, portrayed by Brent Spiner, and the destruction of Romulus and steps into the next chapter of his life.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Scheduled to premiere in August 2020, the Disney+ six-episode show will cover events after the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame. The series will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is just one of many Marvel shows coming to Disney+, including Loki, WandaVision, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight. If there is anything that Marvel is willing to say, it is that Endgame was just a new beginning.
