Internationally renowned fashion photographer Horst Diekgerdes, shot the latest
Lookbook 2013 at “Son Bonet”, an airfield on the Island of Mallorca for RIMOWA, one of the leading premium brands worldwide for luggage made from

aluminum and from the high-tech material polycarbonate Top model Alessandra Ambrosio, who came all the way from Brazil for the shoot, and the internationally demanded model Johannes Huebl from Germany posed for the shoot.
Diekgerdes skillfully put the slogan “The Luggage With The Grooves” into the spotlight reinforcing both the heritage and modernity of RIMOWA.

The backdrop was the RIMOWA JU52 plane as a part of the company’s history: In 1937, inspired by the legendary airplanes of the pioneering days of aviation, Richard Morszeck, the son of company founder Paul Morszeck, discovered a way to use duralumin in luggage production and produced the first overseas trunk made of lightweight metal.

Then, in 1950, the first aluminum suitcase with the characteristic grooves was introduced to the market: not only the suitcase exterior was reminiscent of the Junkers JU52 covered in corrugated sheeting; but like the aircraft itself, the technology, too, combined low weight with tremendous stability.
