Real Life Lessons From Yoda

By  |

It is no secret that Star Wars has harbored its own fan cult base for years. While there are various interesting characters in this universe, today we want to focus on the legendary Jedi Master, Yoda, who plays such an integral role because of his unique wisdom and words to live by. Without further ado, here are some of our favorite quotes from this tiny, yet impressively inspirational character.

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”

It’s so true – fear is the absolute worst. If you claw away at your insecurities to find the core or root issue, you will find that most of them are based on some type of hidden fear.

“Named must your fear be before banish it you can.”

Before you get rid of your fear, you have to define it. Is it fear of loss, fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, fear of failure? There are many types of fear, and each can be addressed in a very specific way.

“You will know (the good from the bad) when you are calm, at peace.”

Yes! We simply cannot think about our life clearly, process deep things or make big decisions when we’re anxious, angry or overwhelmed. The wise thing to do is wait until you’ve had the chance to rest.

“The greatest teacher failure is.”

Many of us avoid failure like the plague. Although when we fail, we learn what not to do next time and the time after that. Perfectionism happens to be among the biggest hindrances to personal development and growth.

“I can’t teach him. The boy has no patience.”

We can’t learn anything if we’re so easily distracted or lack all signs of self discipline. Having a teachable heart is the best way to move forward if you want to excel at what you do.

“Always pass on what you have learned.”

Contrary to popular belief, we don’t merely exist to be happy and practice self-love;

“Truly wonderful the mind of a child is.”

Ain’t that the truth? We have a lot to learn from children! Not only do they have the purest hearts, but they are not hindered or held back in life by fear and disappointments.

“In the end, cowards are those who follow the dark side.”

We know that evil is the lesser, easier choice. Those who actually choose it have either compromised or retreated and given up the good fight.
