Presenting a fabulous new collection, Swarovski revives our longstanding love of the arts as it refreshes our memory of its rich Austrian brand heritage. In tribute to the wonder of the natural world, creative director Giovanna Engelbert experimented with various elements of crystal, cut, color and geometry.

As expected, Swarovski goes against the trendy minimalist approach to jewellery. With a rebellious flair, the collection features three styling routes you can take; the first one highlights the elegance of clear crystal, the second one embraces the playfulness with all the colours you see at a candy shop, and the last one takes on Swarovski’s signature Bohemian roots.

Regarding sources of inspiration, Engelbert said, “In this collection I wanted to dive deeper into a love affair with Austrian arts and crafts, notably the influences of the Wiener Werkstätte and Gustav Klimt, while bringing in a modernity to the organic ways shape and form can be represented within their tradition.”

For the digital campaign covering Collection II,  Instagram content was created in collaboration with Mikael Jansson. A total of twenty five portraits exhibited the inclusive spirit that Engelbert envisioned. Although each model presented an individualistic sense of style, the common theme of the campaign is the confidence you feel as you flaunt new pieces of jewellery – “crystal worn with assertiveness”, as described by the brand.

Engelbert adds, “Collection II gives us a chance to dive further into our world of wonders. From a closer look into the muses of the Bohemian movement to the design aesthetic of our Austrian heritage, we’re able to enrich our brand story with a modern twist. In this way, each crystal item becomes a microcosm of our world. We’ve created pieces for everyone to play and experiment with crystal as a tool for their own expression.”

A behind-the-scenes film was later released to portray the intimate moments from the set of the Collection II campaign. It featured a gorgeous range of models from different cultural backgrounds including, Adwoa Aboah, Malika Louback, Sharon Alexie, Malick Bodian, Ash Foo, Vetle Emile, Kelsey Lu, Jits Jente, Kayako Higuchi, Maryel Uchida, Tom Dapperton, The Bloom Twins, Lourdes Leon, Shalom Harlow, Ariel Nicholson, Ling Tan, Tess McMillan and Fadhi Mohamed.
