Digital achievers… Rejoice! The first-ever digital awards stemming from Egypt is finally here, and it’s a big deal for the whole creative industry in Egypt and the MENA region. 

NU Digital Awards has always been a dream for the founder Ali Shaaban, and what better way to achieve a dream than to partner up with Mai Salama, Abdel Hamid Abdella, and Neamat Khalil to start together the journey and bring this dream to reality. The founders worked together and made sure to bring to the table the right experts to ensure that the NU Digital Awards is crafted with the best benchmarks and global standards.

Terry Savage, one of the biggest names in this field and festivals joined as the awards consultant, where he overseas and ensures that everything about the NU is world-class. Matter Branding joined the team from day one as the branding partner. Their role is creating the identity from name, story, logo to branding has been pivotal and of immense value.

Let’s say that the founders were not kidding when it comes to turning a dream into a reality. The NU Digital Awards aims to raise and inspire the bar of creative digital excellence through recognizing and celebrating the best in the digital ecosystem from creative, content, brand, platform to anything innovative and disruptive existing in the digital sphere. Entries are set to open during the month of May this year, so get ready!

Adhering to international standards and featuring a top-notch roster of leading digital professionals, NU Digital Awards’ mandate is to provide a platform for connecting all commercial entities involved in digital work – from startups to the region’s leading corporates and everything in between – and rewarding these brands and individuals with the acknowledgment and exposure that their work truly deserves.

The vision is to communicate passion, excellence and transparency. NU seeks to pursue something bigger and better, to strive for the highest levels of quality and innovation, and be accountable and open in all business practices including the judging process which is defined by being transparent, unbiased and fair to all. They believe that persistence and determination needs more than commercial success; they need a symbolic perpetual reminder of their outstanding digital creative efforts, and what better way to establish that than with a uniquely distinctive trophy.

Interested parties can submit their entries into one of five main categories, which are Digital Campaigns, Social Engagement, Digital Craft, Cross-Border and Special Awards. These five categories are further broken down into 59 subcategories that cover a wide spectrum of digital applications. It’s safe to say that whatever your product or service, there’s a subcategory for that. Not to mention, the awards ceremony that will be taking place in October that will be held at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue in Cairo but we’re sure it will be glamorous and worthy of accommodating the best that the industry has to offer.
