The 2019 African Games came and went but Egypt came in trained and went ultimately victorious. This year, Egypt competing in Swimming, Judo, Beach Volleyball, Taekwondo, Rowing, Ping Pong and so many more came out with a whopping 116 medals. The games that were held from August 19th to 31st, which took place in Rabat Morocco. Coming in second was South Africa, who was left far behind Egypt with only 56 medals less than half of what the marvelous Egyptian athletes had earned.

Egypt came out with 29 Bronze Medals, 50 Silver and 37 Gold. The winners of the Gold Medals won in the categories of Judo, Swimming, Beach Volleyball, Taekwondo, 1000 Meter Rowing, Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Team Ping Pong, Triathlon, Mixed Team Chess, Track and Field, Archery, Weightlifting, Karate and Gymnastics.

Notable athletes won these medals, such as Farida Osman winning two medals and Hania Moro winning four in Swimming. Farah Ahmed won Egypt’s Gold medal in Gymnastics, while Yasmine Hamdy and Malek Salama won Gold in Karate. Ahmed Shehab won Track and Field and Basma El-Salamony won the difficult Triathlon.

These young athletes have made their country proud, dominating and proving Egypt to be the mightiest of African athletes. Egypt celebrates these bright and determined sportsmen who earned their way to glory.
