Luxury cruise line Cunard started off their company’s fourth annual Transatlantic Fashion Week at Sea with a special ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ in the flagship store’s esteemed Blue Box Café the day before they set sail. Now, let’s start by dropping names and giving you the scoop on that upscale event. Rose Marie Bravo, Vice Chairman of Burberry, welcomed guests and specifically the voyage’s headline designer, British Milliner Stephen Jones OBE (this is a post-nominal for officer of the Order of the British Empire). His unique designs have been making their mark on the fashion industry for more than 40 years, and his celebrity fans include Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Mick Jagger and Britain’s Royal Family. Talk about impressive!

If you haven’t heard much about the Cunard, let us give you a proper introduction. We just hope your jaw doesn’t hurt when it hits the floor. The Cunard is actually the operator of luxury cruise ships Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. Known globally for impeccable white-star service, gourmet dining and world-class entertainment, all three of the queen ships offer luxury accommodations in Britannia, Britannia Club, Princess Grill Suite and Queens Grill Suite staterooms. Cunard also happens to be the only line offering regular scheduled transatlantic service between New York and London, and it continues to celebrate the adventure of travel by visiting Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Located within the Tiffany & Co. Flagship on Fifth Avenue in New York City, the Blue Box Cafe reflects the ultimate modern luxury experience. It serves American classics made with the highest quality, regionally sourced ingredients. The simple menu, which of course continually evolves throughout the seasons, is a refined take on signature New York dishes. Attendees at the breakfast also included Gail Sackloff OBE, a fashion insider who works in collaboration with Cunard to curate the annual Fashion Crossing, and film director Mark Bozek, who directed the documentary, ‘The Life and Times of Bill Cunningham’, which brings fresh insight into the iconic fashion photographer and was actually screened during the voyage.

As for the itinerary during the Transatlantic Fashion Week voyage, Stephen Jones highlighted more than 90 of his millinery masterpieces in a show titled ‘Hats Ahoy! A Millinery Parade’.  More people featured aboard the Cunard include Stuart Weitzman, Stanley Tucker, Michael Atmore, James Aguiar and fashion journalist, Hilary Alexander OBE. Among them, they hosted various Q&A’s, workshops and presentations discussing the happenings of the fashion world.
