7 S/S Fashion Trends You Don’t Want to Miss

By  |

It’s about the right time to exile heavy woven pullovers to the back of your closet, for a new season is now upon us. We can, at last, get into wearing some of the fashion trends we spotted strutting the runways last September.

Bearing in mind that many looks that were featured on the catwalk aren’t exactly designed for daily wear, we wanted to capture the particular vibe and command, which marks its way through the commercial pieces, whether a puffy cocktail dress turns into a semi-formal look or a floral-embroidered print suit comes back as an extraordinary peculiar blouse or blazer. Here are seven of the run-off trends that you’ll want to keep an eye on for months to come.

Double-Leather

While the Fall 2019 trends gave us all fit head-to-toe leather, this season is no different. For Spring 2020, the plushy look is loosening up by the display of their oversized outlines, tender cuts and vibrant colours. Yes, leather pieces will remain a classic but this time it is all about addressing new pieces casually with a touch of a reckless attitude. Assemble leather trousers along with a basic top and strappy sandals. Put together a leather dress with chunky trainers or wedges and messy hair. Bring a leather jacket slightly-open over low-waist jeans and a cropped t-shirt. The moral of the trend when rocking leather this season is minimal does it best.

Trench Coats

Burberry Trench Coat

There has always been some whimsical romance between the fashion realm and trench coats. That functional, easy to grab, goes-with-every piece preference is not intended to vanish anytime soon. This season, in-trench shows up in novel colourways like silver, ivory and minty tones. Envision it under the category of high-end fashion like Balenciaga and hasty sharp ‘60s cuts with playful corsages as in this season’s Louis Vuitton.

Short Suits

Hoping to get your hands on a trendy spring suit fresh off the runway? Recent replications switched your classic pants to shorts instead, prevailing a classy chic, yet amiable cosy option for this upcoming warm season. Whether you lean towards the standard Bermuda cuts or short shorts, we have one certain theory – you’ll have a plentiful opportunity to show off your kicks and heels with this look.

Wrapped Ankles

It confused everyone on the internet when it first popped up but shortly after, it began growing on us. The more we see of wrapped ankle street-style looks, the more we become obsessed. The secret formula is that you can soften the trend when wearing a skirt instead of pants with your ankle tie strappy shoes. If you’ve been keen on following the latest street-style celebrity looks over the past few months, you’ve also probably noticed that most of them have been lacing their sandal straps around their slacks. Another trend to look out for.

Puffy Sleeves

Statement puffy sleeves really caught the spotlight this season. We are talking about massive silhouettes, from royal Disney-like puffs to eccentric iterations previewed earlier in the spring collection of Zimmermann and sentimental figures that gathered up at Carolina Herrera runways. If you were to offer that to the modern woman, better tone it down with basic staples like jeans, flats or sandals.

Simple Embroidery

This spring will see a whole new spin on embroidery, with more sophisticated patterns and erratic embellishments to give it a fresher and more captivating effect. Go all out with embroidered dresses and add a sneaky deeply-hued tank top for an alluring touch, if you’re into a more classic look.

Neon and Florals

Valentino

Believe it or not, this season is not sponsored by one color or a certain shade. However, we’ve definitely noticed how Valentino led the scene with a neon explosion, presenting a crazy, modern, out of the box vibe to the fashion world. Besides neon, prints are also back once more and probably here to stick for a while. This can entail anything from enormous flowers to opposite tones and massive polka dots. The motto for this fad is more is more.
