In a landmark move aimed at bolstering Egypt’s media landscape, the National Media Authority, led by renowned writer and intellectual Ahmed El-Meslemany, has announced the formation of the Supreme Committee of the Cairo Media Forum. This newly formed body is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Egyptian media and elevating its global presence.
At the helm of the committee is Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Gibali, Chairman of the Egyptian Media Production City, bringing with him decades of expertise in media management and public policy. The committee itself comprises an elite selection of influential figures spanning government institutions, media conglomerates, academic spheres, and cultural landmarks — a testament to the Forum’s cross-sectoral vision.
Among the distinguished members are:
- Mr. Essam El-Amir, Deputy of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation
- Osama Kamal, Media Expert and Member of the National Media Authority
- Professor Hassan Emad, Media Professor at Cairo University
- Professor Hussein Amin, Media Professor at the American University in Cairo

The committee’s diverse composition reflects a deliberate strategy to ensure comprehensive insight into the evolving dynamics of modern media — from digital transformation and content regulation to cultural diplomacy and media education.
The Cairo Media Forum, under the stewardship of this committee, promises to be a powerful platform for dialogue, innovation, and policymaking. It aims to empower media professionals, promote ethical standards, and foster collaborations across local and international entities.
This initiative not only marks a progressive chapter for Egyptian media, but also aligns with broader national efforts to reinforce Egypt’s cultural influence and soft power across the Arab region and beyond.
