R’Kan Edition, a trailblazer in design and functional art has unveiled it’s much anticipated 2025 collection. Named “Escape to Nature”, and influenced by Rembrandt’s timeless wisdom, “Choose only one master… nature,” their brand new collection pays homage to the beauty and serenity of the natural world.
“We are thrilled to launch our newest collection, a celebration of art and Egyptian talent,” expressed R’Kan Edition’s Founder, CEO, and Senior Designer Rania Fahmy. “Inspired by nature’s exquisite beauty, this collection reshapes how everyday objects are perceived, merging innovation with purpose. By combining modern design with classic craftsmanship and incorporating materials like bronze, acrylic, solid wood carvings, and brass ornaments, we’ve created pieces that embody depth, elegance, and the essence of nature,” she added. “Our vision goes beyond design—we aim to export Egyptian talent to the global arena, showcasing the incredible potential of our artisans and merging their skills to demonstrate to the world what we are truly capable of achieving.”
The fabulous event, which took place at the Fairmont Nile City, featured a range of captivating highlights, offering attendees an immersive journey into the world of design and art. Guests included a number of ministers, art-enthusiasts and collectors, in addition to celebrities including Youssra, Sherine Reda, Tamer Hagras, Abu, Mona zaki and Mohamed Farouk of Shark Tank.
During the event, legendary award-winning body painter Emanuela Peretto created live artwork on five models, showcasing her phenomenal talent in real time. As you stood in front of the models, they looked like fluid, moving pieces of art, while others were meticulously placed in front of paintings, blending in almost like an iguana blends in with nature. Furthermore, Oriental Weavers showcased an exquisitely handwoven, hand-crafted carpet considered to be one of R’Kan Edition’s masterpieces, while Hanna Patten unveiled a stunning digital installation designed for a specially made table.
Masha Shobokshy, Partner at R’Kan Edition, shared her thoughts stating, “At R’Kan Edition we aim to transform the ordinary into extraordinary by creating designs that resonate deeply with individuality and elegance. Bringing this event to life has been an incredible journey, as we’ve collaborated with distinguished artists to create pieces that integrate cutting- edge approaches with artistic talent. By inviting celebrities and influencers to join us, we aim to elevate the experience and celebrate the fusion of art and design that defines R’Kan Edition.”
The “Escape to Nature” collection showcases R’Kan Edition’s collaboration with a notable lineup of artists. Highlights included the Beetles Collection, designed in collaboration with the visionary fashion designer Farah Wali, and the Natura Collection, shaped by the creativity of well-known artist Adel Mostafa. Adding depth and character, Karim Ataya’s Hexa Collection, Amr Sherif’s captivating wall art and installations, and Reem Osama’s masterful sculptures are also featured. Sophisticated handmade embroidery by Mariam Khaled, exquisite hand-blown glass by Maha AbdelKerim, and woven glasswork by Walid Onsi further enrich the collection. The engaging journey extends with soundscapes curated by Ahmed Fahmy and Hassan Abu Alam, and contributions from acclaimed artists like Mouna Fersi Seghir, Walaa Abul Enein, ensuring a truly multi-dimensional celebration of originality and inventive flair.
