The Space of Art” comes alive with a series of exhibitions, painting displays, photography showcases, and two captivating competitions
Majid Al Futtaim—the leading shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia—launches its first art festival at City Centre Almaza entitled ‘The Space of Art,’ from June 14th to 24th, at the Center Court at 7 PM.
The coming 10-day cultural and artistic venue captivated many art enthusiasts with a world full of exhibitions, workshops, and contests, where they can create their own masterpieces to be integrated and seen in the mall, one of Egypt’s most vibrant and bustling destinations for shopping, entertainment, and relaxing. Held in cooperation with a number of esteemed organisations, the art festival offers a sculpture competition aimed at achieving the best design for the fountain wall at City Centre Almaza and another for graffiti art that will be used to renovate Plaza corridor at City Centre Almaza, plus several financial rewards and vouchers to use at the mall.
The Space of Art will showcase an impressive lineup of drawing events, sculpture showcases, graffiti displays, and photography exhibitions. The event boasts a rich participation of exhibitors and art institutions, providing a diverse platform for artists to showcase their work. Additionally, the Space of Art will offer a series of enriching art and educational workshops, in collaboration with the Cocoon Cultural Centre, led by a group of leading artists and specialists. Participants seeking to explore their artistic passions will have the opportunity to engage in workshops such as portrait painting, illustration, phone photography, origami making, and upcycled tote bag creation.
The Space of Art comes in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, focusing on developing people’s skills and rebuilding the Egyptian character. The art festival goes beyond its artistic and cultural endeavours highlighting corporate social responsibility and the positive role it has on both the environment and the society. As partners of the Space of Art, Cocoon is the co-founder of “From Waste to Good Taste” with the Egyptian Clothing Bank. Their mission is to educate people on the positive impact sustainable fashion has on the environment and society, inspire conscious living and shopping practices, and raise funds for the Egyptian Clothing Bank to assist those in need. To support this cause, a clothing donation box will be available alongside the workshops for attendees to donate their old or unused clothes.
Majid Al Futtaim’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and creating exceptional experiences for everyone has propelled it to the forefront of the industry. Its diverse portfolio encompasses a wide range of sectors, including iconic shopping destinations, vibrant communities, retail brands, and world-class leisure facilities.
