Through his official social media accounts, star Ahmed Dawood announced the release of his new film Youm 13 in cinemas in Gulf cinemas. The premiere of the film will be held in Reel Cinema in Riyadh, KSA on May 22, followed by another screening in Dubai on May 24. This comes ahead of the film’s release on May 25.
Since its release in Egyptian cinemas, Youm 13 achieved a huge success in the Egyptian box office, topping the daily revenues for more than consecutive 20 days so far, generating nearly EGP 24 million after four weeks of its release.
The events of Youm 13 revolve around Ezzeldine (Ahmed Dawood) who returns from abroad to his family’s mansion with the intention of selling it, to discover secrets that were not taken into account.
Alongside Ahmed Dawood, Youm 13 stars Dina Elsherbiny, Sherif Mounir, Ahmed Zaher, Jumana Murad, Mahmoud Abdul Moghni, Arwa Gouda, Nisreen Amin, Mohamed Tharwat, Phaedra, Mohamed Kilani, Magdy Kamel, Nihal Anbar, Noha Abdeen, Jihan Khalil, and Enas Kamel. The film’s score is composed by music composer Hisham Kharma. Written and directed by Wael Abdullah, Youm 13 is produced by Oscar for Distribution and Theaters.
Ahmed Dwood is a prominent Egyptian actor who is famous for the distinctive characters he portrays in films and TV series. He shined in the cinematic scene since his first lead role in Walad W Bent (Boy and Girl) film, followed by collaborating with key names in Egyptian cinema such as; Youssra, Nour El Sherif, and Laila Elwy.
Segn El-Nisaa is considered one of the defining steps in Dawood’s acting career. Later on, he took part in the Grand Hotel TV series, followed by Haza Almasa’, which the critics considered as one of the best TV dramas. Dawood achieved great success in portraying the character of Youssef in Aho Da Elly Saar (Once Upon a Time).
Dawood is interested in acting in films that gather several stars under the same roof; such as Welad Rizk 1 and 2, and Hepta: The Last Lecture. Both films achieved great success in the Egyptian box-office. Dawood played the lead role in the film 122, which marks the first Egyptian film to be released in the 4D technology and achieved revenues of more than EGP 24 million.
Most recently, Ahmed Dawood was the host of the El Container show for the first time. During its airing, El Container topped the trending on social media platforms.
