Zendaya and Louis Vuitton revealed their new collaboration this morning, unveiling a vivid, eye-catching ad honouring the House’s instantly-recognisable Capucines line, for which the actor is now the face. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot bring the bags and setting to life against the backdrop of E-1027, the Roquebrune-Cap-Martin mansion created by modernist architect and designer Eileen Grey.
The Golden Globe-winning actor embraces the dreaminess of the Cote d’Azur air throughout the shoot. Zendaya presents a modern yet sensual grace to the campaign, transitioning from the patio to the balcony to the rooftop and carrying a variety of Capucines, most notably a small Capucines BB. Perhaps a foreshadowing of the enthusiasm she will exude as the newest House ambassador.
Zendaya initially sparked speculation about a prospective ambassadorship when she attended the Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2023 show in March, wearing an obvious head-to-tie tiger print-inspired outfit and, fittingly, a small Capucines BB. It wasn’t the first time the actor, who is due to play in Luca Guadagnino’s forthcoming romantic sports comedy Challengers, has attended a coveted Louis Vuitton presentation. In 2016, not long after becoming a style icon to watch, Zendaya attended the Louis Vuitton Autumn 2016 presentation.
