InterContinental Cairo Citystars has recently hosted Musabbeh Al-Kabi, the first professional Emirati chef who was able to uniquely introduce his country’s traditional cuisine to the world.

During the visit, the hotel held two events to display Al Kabi’s innovative creations; Gulf food Festival at Esplanade restaurant and “Emirates Meets Egypt” Gala Dinner at Fayruz restaurant, where Chef Kabi and the hotel’s Chef, Yasser El Masry shared the stage and created exquisite Egyptian-Emirati fusion dishes.

Chef Musabbeh has also shared his knowledge in Emirati cuisine with the hotel’s kitchen team and created a variety of exquisite Emirati dishes that will be available for hotel’s guests in room services menu throughout the year.

Al Kabi’s reputation has spread from the UAE to the global food market allowing him to represent his country at various international food festivals. His passion for cooking started at the age of seven while watching his mom’s talent in preparing outstanding Emirati food.

In 2004, he made his first headline in the Arabic newspaper Shabab Al Khaleej, as the first professional Emirati chef, he became also well-known for his Ramadan cooking shows which were featured in both Kuwaiti Channel Al-Rai TV “Sufra Khaleejeeya” and Sharjah TV “Cooking and More”.

Al-Kabi says: “The idea of being a chef was a novelty in the past. But now, there are many culinary academies around the UAE. Food is a legitimate career choice. Being part of this change is something that I am incredibly proud of.”

Musabbeh is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to develop more skills besides his eagerness to explore more cuisines from different cultures to create an extraordinary story in the world of culinary art, and now Musabbeh Al-Kabi is bringing his culinary visions to Cairo.
