After showing it for two successful seasons during the year 2021, the play “Halawes” returned to the stage of the Hanager Theater in the Egyptian Opera House, where it participated in the activities of the National Festival for Egyptian Theater, where its management announced the participation of the show with more than 30 theatrical performances within the competing shows in its fifteenth session, which is held Under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, Enas Abdel Dayem, and headed by the artist Youssef Ismail, it will be shown on Thursday and Friday, corresponding to August 4 and 5, at Al-Hanager Theater at exactly six in the evening.

The features of the Egyptian theater express the character of Egypt and spread the enlightening message to build the Egyptian person, as well as encourage creative theater artists to compete creatively and motivate theatrical teams to develop their performances intellectually, performatively, and technically, to participate in creating a better future for the country.

The director of the show, Muhammad Abdullah, said, “I am participating for the second time in the National Festival of Egyptian Theater, the first time was in 2014, specifically the seventh session, where I participated in the Karamazov Brothers show, and won the support award for the best show of the independent arts season, and this year I participate in a different experience through a show.” Halawes, was produced by the Hanager Center for the Arts under the direction of the artist Shadi Sorour. This show is considered one of the different shows, as it relies on 4 acting schools, namely, physical theater, mime, pantomime, and black theatre. The show relies more on the physical capabilities of the actors rather than theatrical dialogue, as it is an exceptional and different experience. About the regular theatrical performances, which focus on presenting human relations more, which is what mime art outside Egypt focuses on, my concern is to present a different show that discusses important relationships such as friendship and love and how they exist within one circle of conflict, the topic was not easy, and the idea started with me since 12 years old.”

And about the reason for calling the show “hallucinations,” he said, “It is a somewhat slang word, but it has a great meaning. Hallucinations are always and ever present in your personal or work life or a strange aspect that no one knows. In the form of a dream, reality, or delusions of words you want to say, hallucinations exist when I dream about something or during my planning for something or other things. the offer”.
