China Red has been around for quite some time now as a top-tier establishment located at Le Meridien Cairo Airport.

While such eateries abound in Cairo, China Red has grown by leaps and bounds among the Egyptian community, attracting a steady stream of diners for dumplings and a rising preference for their dining menu. Since it’s known that Chinese cuisine is as varied as their culture, with each region creating its menu where cooking approaches, ingredients, and flavor profiles vary by location; however, Red China was able to bring together most of the elements all together at one place.

The interior design is a beautiful blend of tradition, luxury, and contemporary. Every table has a clear view of the entire restaurant. While dining, the combination of green, red, and black hues provides an elegant warmth to the customer. Diners without reservations are also welcome to wait in a pleasant lounge with comfortable sofas and themed artwork.

The menu features a wide range of delectable appetizers and main entrees that will appeal to both children and adults. To begin, I had the combo platter, which included soft dumplings, crisp calamari, and wonderfully smoked skewers. The entrée dish was indeed appetizing. A wonderful wok stir-fried Surf & Turf beef was served on a sizzling plate as the main dish. It was all followed by a savory Beijing duck with pancakes, onion, and cucumber with Beijing-style sauce as well as stir-fried veal with noodles.

Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. Every dish was very light but flavorful enough to be a highlight on its own. Each dish aims to strike a balance between three factors: aesthetic, aroma, and flavor. They devote close attention to the food’s visual presentation, using a variety of colors.
