Ministry of Environment celebrated the global initiative to turn off the lights “Earth Hour” with the whole world in the land of peace, Sharm El Sheikh, with the attendance of her excellency, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Egypt’s Ministry of Environmental Affairs, on the sidelines of the launch of the National Dialogue on Climate Change.
For an hour from 8.30 to 9.30 in the evening on the last Saturday of every March, the whole world turns off the lights in a grand attempt to give thanks to our earth and reduce our emissions. The initiative witnessed the participation of all the society’s representatives including youth, women, religious figures.
The initiative is to draw attention to the danger of excessive energy consumption and its negative effects on the planet Earth and its cause of climate change and global warming and urge positive behaviors aimed at preserving the environment and Earth to ensure an environment and a sustainable future.
