Cedric Haddad’s work may be seen on any fashion website, Instagram, or even Snapchat. Carmen Bsaibes, Stephanie Saliba, Jessica Azar, and Raya Abirached are among the most recognized women across the region, and the Lebanese stylist is now dressing them. Cedric Haddad has a distinct fashion DNA that has been increasingly recognizable in recent years while becoming enthralling each time. Haddad prefers looks that are representative of each woman’s personality, such as the long dramatic coat, leather and suede separate, and delicate jewelry. The outcome implies a group of stunning austere promenades whose style stands out and is rapidly catching on with the public. We talked with the man-of-the-hour himself about all things fashion.
How did you get your start in fashion?
I began my journey working in advertising, styling models for ads, commercials, and tv shows. Over time, I was sure that this was the ideal thing for me to do for a living, I was very passionate about the whole process where it doesn’t feel like work anymore. I started from Tv like Arabs Got Talent, The Voice, and Arab Idol to outfitting celebrities on various occasions. Later, I started to conduct fashion styling workshops to help individuals elevate their styles, declutter their wardrobe, and feel better through fashion.
What’s your approach when you first start styling?
I like to start by doing extensive research on the celebrity I am dressing, to see her past looks and favorite styles. That way, I can help her change her style a bit and try new pieces according to her character. I feel the anticipation and enthusiasm when I dress a celebrity, taking on different challenges to create something new and beautiful.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
That it never feels the same every time I dress a celebrity. There’s always a new sphere, a new challenge, a new concept that always keeps me on my toes.
You have collaborated with a lot of celebrities, what’s your dream collab?
Oh, that’s a tough one. If we are talking internationally, I’d have to say Zendaya – at such a young age, she succeeded to become a fashion icon and a reference to everyone, which is admirable. I would love to work with her because I know ‘she adds to what she wears. This is the epitome of stardom, to dress however you like and still manage to pull it off.
How would you describe your style?
Timeless cheque. I don’t like to dress someone in something that they regret later, in life.
How do you see the fashion industry today?
In the Middle East, fashion has advanced significantly. Egyptian, Lebanese, Saudi and Kuwaiti designers, have made fashion both functional and unique. They hold a great amount of creativity whenever they present a new collection that reads diversity all over. We should encourage and support Arab designers; they are redefining the fashion book.
