Earlier last month, Victoria’s Secret launched its very first original podcast, titled ‘VS Voices’. Hosted by English photographer, author and media personality, Amanda de Cadenet, the podcast is all about women empowerment and the telling of personal experiences of icons we look up to. The first season will feature prominent women from the VS Collective, who are driving forces of positive change in the world.
Each episode will present a special one-on-one interview with de Cadenet, with topics ranging from stories of distinctive background experiences and a deep dive into various passionate lifestyles. Starring none other than the stunning Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the premiere episode highlights her upbringing in India and how it shaped her to become an advocate for women. Moreover, she talks about the balance between ambition and emotional vulnerability, grieving the loss of her father, and the reaction of her culture to her marriage to Nick Jonas.
On her collaboration with VS Voices, Priyanka said, “I joined the VS Collective to be a part of something that inspires community and supports people. I truly enjoyed coming together with Amanda de Cadenet as a fellow VS Collective member to hopefully open up the dialogue/the stage for others to share their stories and take charge of their own lives and journeys. VS Voices is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to share what’s next on the horizon!”
Since the premiere, designer Stella McCartney, and models Paloma Elsesser and Adut Akech have also been featured, with a brand new episode released every Wednesday. Upcoming interviews will feature more VS Collective members, including Megan Rapinoe, Valentina Sampaio and Eileen Gu, and more.
On the theme of the podcast, de Cadenet said, “After two years of being isolated from my female friends, it has been such a joy to embark on VS Voices and connect with like-minded women around the world. From London to Buenos Aires, I’ve been able to share stories with some of the most remarkable women about the things that connect us: purpose, advocacy, authentic selves, loss and love. I hope listeners will relate to these experiences and be comforted by the knowledge that we are more similar than we are different.”
