The summer just got a lot more exciting with the opening of Longhorn Texas BBQ in Diplo this weekend. If you were worried about what to eat this summer while frolicking in the North Coast, fear not, as Longhorn will be serving up the same amazing dishes as their Cairo location. If you have become addicted to smoked meats and Texas-style sides you are not alone! Not only will you have access to your favorite comfort foods like ribs, brisket, sausages, tacos, sandwiches, and all the fixings but you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea while you dine. We met up with owner and founder Tamer Amer to ask a few questions about the new location.

The 411 With Owner Tamer Amer:

Fans love Pancho and Lefty, what have you named the Diplo smokers? 

Our Diplo smokers are named after the infamous couple, Bonnie and Clyde, because they are famous Texas outlaw killers, and we produce killer BBQ! 

How did you choose the new Longhorn location? 

The new Longhorn location was an easy choice. The location sits side by side with our other brand “Fuego Grill and Sushi Bar.” We think Diplo is the best setting because the rooftop provides 360-degree views of the sea, greenery, and gorgeous blue skies for miles. 

What are you looking most forward to this summer? 

We are looking forward to putting a smile on everyone’s face that enters our establishment, and making sure that their experience is the most unique and satisfying in all of Sahel—be it the ambiance, the food, the setting… we are excited to hear peoples feedback!

We love the inside scoop at Flair. Can you tell Flair readers any juicy secrets about the new Diplo location? 

All our meats are 100% sourced directly from Omaha, Nebraska and we utilize only the finest cuts, like USDA PRIME and Certified Angus Beef. We take these fine cuts, season them with our secret dry rubs, and put them in our 2, one-of-a-kind in the region, 1,000-gallon smokers for over 14 hours by utilizing only seasoned oak wood. This is the process before it hits your plate as the most tender, flavorful, succulent smoked flavor you have ever tasted. We also make all of our sauces and sausages in-house!

We all love making our own delicious combos at Longhorn but we are dying to know what your favourite meal is? 

“While I love every single item on my menu, I’m a taco kind of guy and I love our homemade sausages. It’s worth mentioning that my wife’s favorite is the chopped brisket sandwich and the mac & cheese with brisket and bbq sauce on top, and my kids love the ribs!”

When can we come visit? 

We are open from 4 pm to 12 am on days, and from 4 pm to 1 am on the weekends. Booking is available for both insiders of Diplo and outsiders, however, outsiders just need to call to make a reservation for entering the gate by calling 0106-552-4466.
